Huawei’s Honor 6X was one of the first device to provide dual lens camera in the sub 15k category devices. Now they have revealed the successor Honor 7X which looks amazing in terms of design. The pricing is not revealed yet and the phone is yet to be officially launched, but we managed to get our hands on the device. Let’s see the first impression of the device and later we will be covering everything in the detail.
Honor 7X comes with a display having ratio 16:9 and there are very thin bezels all around the edges. Right from the first look one would be impressed with the display and the design. The display is very crisp and performs great under heavy sunlight too. On the rear top-left corner are the dual cameras protruding out with single LED flash. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the back too just like the Honor 6X. The two antenna lines are visible but you won’t notice it easily with the black model. It is has an all metal body which is a nice upgrade to the previous device. We still have the micro-USB retained along with 3.5 mm audio jack. The overall thickness of the device is only 7.6 mm that means it falls in the slim category. The speaker grills are nicely drilled at the bottom. The rear camera is of 16 MP and the front facing is of 8 MP. The rear camera is more of something to look out for in terms of image quality though we still need to experiment a bit more. One of the things that disappointed me was it doesn’t come with the latest Android version that is Oreo instead you get Android Nougat 7.0 with EMUI 5.1 running on top of it.
Huawei has its own chipset Kirin 659(Octa-Core processor) that comes with Honor 7X. It has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. The phone should perform decently well consindering the optimizations they do with software and hardware. It has a large 3340 mAh battery to support the device. But considering the large 5.9 inch screen it will be really interesting to see if who wins! Overall our first impressions showed that the design is really amazing along with high quality display. The device performance and camera quality will be put to test under our full review. We still dont know for how much the Honor 7X will be available in the market, but the launch is planned on 5th Dec 2017. So stay tunned for further updates.
