Hostinger single web hosting review and features

Hostinger is a web hosting company that provides various plans for shared hosting and VPS. The best thing about this company is that it offers some great products at a very affordable prices. I am using their single web hosting for quite some time so I wanted to share its review with my readers. This review is based on my 1 year usage of the service and I will also list out the features in detail. This will help you to understand what all features you get with this hostinger single web hosting so that you can use it for the best purpose. So read my full hostinger single web hosting review and the features it has to offer.

Hostinger single web hosting review and features

We will start with the basic features list down and then understand in detail with my review. So these are the basic features which are also listed on the website. You can buy it from here for some exciting discounts.

Hostinger Single Web Hosting features:

  • 1 Website
  • 10 GB Disk Space
  • 100 GB Bandwidth
  • 1 MySQL Database
  • 1 FTP User
  • 1 Email Account
  • Easy Website Builder
  • Powerful Control Panel

So this plan is suitable if you just want to host one website online. The resources are enough to handle single website on their server. The company is highly transparent as they don’t have the word unlimited listed in this feature list. You can see that you get 10 GB disk space which is more than enough for one website. Other companies hide the truth by writing unlimited and then giving you limited storage by mentioning it in the terms and condition. You get 100 GB of bandwidth which is again enough for starters considering you don’t host a lot of media like videos which is never recommended on any shared hosting. So for single website this should suffice. Next you get 1 MySQL database which can easily handle one website. Single FTP account using which you can do file transfers easily. I just love using FTP service to backup/restore my website on any server. One email address which is enough if you are the sole owner of the website. But if you have got a team then this won’t suffice. I guess they should increase this to atleast 3 or 5 email accounts. But considering the price range we cannot argue much. If need arises, then you can shift to a third part service for email like Zoho which offers 10 users in their free plan. Next is website builder feature which comes free with this plan. So if you don’t wish to use a CMS like wordpress you can design your website using this too. It has many prebuilt templates to build the website easily. And last but the most important thing is CPANEL access where all the action happens.

So these were the resources and features you get with single web hosting. While most of the features are enough to satisfy the need of single website, the only thing which is missing is more number of email accounts. But I already told you the solution of using free third party services to compensate that too. So now let’s move on to control panel and the various options available.

The best thing about this Cpanel is it is clutter free with minimal useful options only. So you don’t have some unnecessary things which you will never use. So there are some normal options for email settings like adding email, auto-responders, email forwarders, G-Suite etc. You get some auto-installers where you can install various CMS and there is a long list to choose from. I used wordpress installer which was very easy to use. You have got two different file manager options with this plan. The first one is basic but great in looks. But the second one has some useful features like zip and unzip too if you upload a zip archive directly. If you are facing issues for uploading backup files using file manager then it is always preferred to use FTP for the same. Other common features include MySql database, phpMyAdmin, FTP accounts, cron jobs etc. You don’t get SSH access with this plan. But one amazing feature that I noticed was GIT, so you can use this server to make your repositories private. Also you can deploy applications directly from public git repository too. This is just for advanced users so if you don’t know about GIT it is ok. The last section of others include some features like IP manager to whitelist/blacklist IP address, fix file ownership, activity log etc.

Payment options:

For people living in India, the option of debit card might not work so you might have to pay using credit card only. Or you can use Paypal account and they even accept payments using cryptocurrencies which is really cool. But as of now the transaction fees for crypto transaction is high so choose the best option which suits you. You can get full refund within 30 days of purchase if you are not satisfied with their services.

So these were some features of the hostinger single web hosting plan and the resources at your disposal. Overall my experience was great of using Hostinger for more than a year now. The uptime with these servers was good and I would totally recommend this product to anybody wishing to take their business online. If you have any type of doubt then please post it in the comment section below. I am hoping that you like this Hostinger single web hosting review and features list. I would love to do more such reviews if it proves helpful to the readers.

Is Panasonic Eluga Note worth buying?

P_20160704_115440

Panasonic yesterday launched the new phablet Eluga Note in India. The phablet has a very thin body and is light weighted. Panasonic is selling this phablet only in offline stores saying that they want to avoid the online price war. Still I doubt that this strategy will work or not. Let’s check out the specification of the phablet and find out if Panasonic Eluga Note is worth buying or not.

P_20160704_131445

Panasonic Eluga Note has a mesh texture on the back with a very sleek design and light-weight body. It has a 5.5 inch LTPS screen with full HD display and 74% screen to body ratio. The phablet is 8.1 mm thick and weighs only 141 g. On the right it has the power button with volume rockers on the left, which is again a bad move according to me. On the bottom there is the primary microphone and the speaker grill while on the top it has micro-usb charging port, IR blaster, and 3.5mm audio jack. The 16 MP camera is on the back with triple LED flash, Panasonic & Eluga Logo. The three navigation buttons are on screen and the phablet has a 5 MP front camera.

Panasonic Eluga Note comes with MediaTek 6753 64-bit Octa-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. The phablet has 3GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage out of which 25 GB is available and you can also expand the storage using memory card. On the graphics end it runs on Mali T720 GPU. The phablet is very low on performance end and the benchmark score we got on AnTuTu was 36848 only. It took a lot of time to run the benchmark test which shows the phone is not focused on performance. When asked to Panasonic regarding performance issues they said that high clock speed will heat up the phone and consume more battery. So they have decided to increase the battery backup and lower the temperature by compromising on performance which is not the greatest move. The phablet has dual SIM 4G LTE with VoLTE support and a 3000 mAh removable battery.

Removable Battery, Dual SIM slot, Memory Card Slot

On the software end, Panasonic Eluga comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box running Fithome 2.0. Fithome is optimized in such a way that one can operate the phablet with single hand. Though I did not find the UI much impressive. Panasonic has collaborated with Google to provide Android for Work on their smartphone. They have added a lot of gesture controls with voice command function for Camera. Speaking about that, the phablet has 16 MP rear camera (F1.9 aperture) and 5 MP front facing camera. It is supported by triple LED dual tone flash and no laser auto focus. The main missing component is the fingerprint sensor which is present in almost all newly launched devices.

16MP camera with triple LED flash

Panasonic Eluga Note is priced at Rs.13290 which is overpriced considering all the specifications and features. You only have one color option i.e. champagne gold. The phablet will be available only offline as of now. Now answering the main questions that is Panasonic Eluga Note worth buying, well according to me it is not. You have various other awesome alternatives available like Moto G4 Plus, Le 2, Redmi Note 3, Lenovo Zuk Z1 etc. I just don’t know what strategy is Panasonic using by launching low performance device with no fingerprint sensor which will not be available online. I hope they do plan to upgrade the specifications, features in their upcoming devices and sell it online too.
